After a long waiting time, I finally finished update 5. I haven’t had much time for development and it’s always difficult to develop a game for free, but here is the update.
REDOWNLOAD THE GAME TO ACCESS ALL NEW FEATURES:

Update 4 is online!
There are no new features, but many bug fixes and important preparations for the upcoming level bundle in four days.
It’s really important that you update the game before downloading the bundle in 4 days.

Update 2 Hotfix
I uploaded a small hotfix to fix the following problems:
AI sometimes won’t rotate in close range
Player could not start with an armored horse
Some trees were flying in the forest biome
Removed campaign images to reduce the game size

Castle building system
There is now a new snap system to build your own castles
New building parts
There are also some new building parts, like 2 large towers and a protected gate
I added 3 traps (Snap trap, fire trap and horse trap). There are more on the way.
You can now start a battle with an animal or use an animal without an owner during the battle
37 new units
There are two new siege weapons(Cannon. Mortar) and some other units, like grenade throwers, armored horses, ranged horses…
King vs. king mode
A new option for custom battles. You have to place a blue and a red king. The team, which kills the enemy king first, will win the game.
Quick battle mode
There is a new button in the main menu, to directly start playing. A battle will be generated for you. After the battle, you can either play it again, or click another button, to quickly jump into the next random battle.
This allows you to play thousands of battles, without having to prepare everything. At the moment, there will just "Reach target" battles created, but I will add deathmatch and siege to it soon.
You can also force the custom battle editor to create a battle for you now.
There are many performance improvements. You can place many ranged units on walls and towers, without any performance issues. This allows large siege battles.
2 new biomes
Forest and Savanna. There is not much to say about.
You can now filter units and buildings in the custom battle editor and I made some performance improvements, too.
The AI decisions are now much faster. At the moment, this will only show effect in custom batttles and quick battles, but I will expand it to the other gamemodes soon.
v0.5.0 Update 1
Christmas update is here
Kill santa claus in Ancient Warfare and test the new christmas biome.
Adjust your controls in the settings. You can now choose your own keys for the actions in game
Better pick up
You can now easier pick up weapons and shields, because you don’t have to hold the right mouse button and the range for picking up weapons has been increased
Better HUD and UI
The HUD has a health bar now and the general UI look of the game has been changed to a darker gray with white text.
There is an experimental night mode option in the custom battle editor. Test it out and give me some feedback about it.
I fixed some bugs, for example the campaign bug with the siege weapons.
Preparations for further updates
There is now a small notification in the main menu for the next update time and if an update is available.
I also prepared some systems to provide better performance and more features for the next updates
The next update will roll out on 7th January 2017.
Features will be:
-New units(about 20)
-Larger buildings and towers
-Castle building system to build your own castle
-Performance improvements to allow larger battles
-King vs. King gamemode

v0.4.0 Full Release 1
The full release doesn’t mean the end of development. It’s the big start!
There are many things I want to add and to improve:
->Optimize the game
->Ingame rewards(special weapons/decorations)
->2 or 3 new gamemodes
So stay tuned, there is much stuff on the way.
The game will stay free(pay what you want). Big thanks to those, who donated! You guys really support my work. And also thanks to those, who reported bugs and suggested features that I might bring to the game in the near future.

-> Countless bugs fixed

Update 1th November 2016
-Fixed some more bugs from last weeks update
-> Spear throwers weren't able to throw :D
-> Red guys won instantly at starup in large battles
-Added support for level bundles
-> This is the way how I will provide more levels after release
-> I have added two bundles with 3 levels in each one to test functionality of this new feature
-> On Windows this feature works well, but please give me some feedback wether it works if you are playing on MacOS or Linux
-Added the possibility to switch the build settings to a beta version, so I can build beta versions a bit faster
-Some changes to some UI parts (You will see the locked beta units)
Hotfix Update 2b Changelog (1th November 2016):
-Unlocked Sword & Shield unit
-Unlocked wood stick unit
-Custom Battle Editor will change back to correct material after selecting an unit
-Custom Battle Editor will highlight siege weapon control units and riders
-Custom Battle Editor will show unit attack range
-Added music/sound effect volume settings
Ancient Warfare 2 is a low poly third and first person game.
You take control of a small blue unit and fight against the large red empire or you can watch battles of blue vs. red!
You can use different melee and ranged weapons, shields, animals and siege weapons to kill your enemies and cut them into pieces.
Create custom battles with the custom battle editor, choose terrain, gamemode, conditions, place enemies and allied troops, build a castle and get ready for heavy battles!
If you don't want to prepare a battle, let the game create a battle for you!
Play conquest, king of the hill, siege a castle/towers to kill a king or play the campaign with 60 levels.
Much more content and features are on the way!
Ancient Warfare 2 is a huge sandbox with many possibilities!
