- Added the Inheritance System: the descendant of your previous hero will always appear in the lineup, until you quit the game. If you rolled a hero that you like, this is a good way to retry the same build without having to rely on random rerolls!
- Enemy descriptions added for every enemy in the game, to give players a better idea of what each enemy does
- 6 new music tracks, so each level now has its own unique level music
- A new (optional) miniboss, the Demonic Rogue, will randomly appear on some levels. Does not activate until injured, and has one random hero ability. Drops a gem and 4 keys when defeated
Changes for version 1.0.3c:
- MAJOR revamp to the multiplayer code: now supports Mac network multiplayer as well! I've migrated the netcode from TCP to a hybrid mix of UDP and TCP, so multiplayer games should be a lot smoother now. You can even play cross platform between PC and Macs!
- Fixed a few multiplayer bugs: water and tiles should update properly on the client now, and the camera should adjust correctly for the client at the end of each level.
- Bloodlust no longer reduces your health over time.
- Taking health potions in multiplayer no longer crashes the game if one of the players is dead.
Changes for version 1.0.3b:
- Fixed "block_health" crash in Network Play, it should be either eliminated or greatly reduced now.
- Added support for directional pad control on controllers, in addition to the current analogue stick
- For Split-screen/Network play, fixed the Death Box to show the correct message when only one player is dead.
- Nerfed Shadow Squids: they should now only fire the annoying homing missiles after they have been injured for any reason.
- Buffed Omnislash: you no longer take damage when Omnislash is active.
- Reduced the damage of spikes in New Game Plus and after completing the game.
EDIT: - Added dpad support for menus
- Fixed autoattack off disabling ally/skeleton attacks
- Maximum one red dragon for each player... no more red dragon screen spam.
Changes for version 1.0.3a:
- 10 new enemies, one for each stage, so each stage will have two "native" enemies instead of one
- Revised graphics for Zombie, Fire Imps and Monks
- Re-balancing of upgrade costs in the late game
- Each completion of the game makes the next run through harder
- Now localized into - Brazilian-Portuguese, French, German, and Spanish

This version fixes the final boss so that he always appears in the final level.
Vertical Drop Heroes is a procedural platformer-RPG hybrid where your hero adventures through randomly generated stages. Armed with a variety of randomised skills and traits, you must use your cunning and reflexes to survive the dangers of each stage, until you face the final boss and uncover the truth behind the game! This is a complete remake (built with Gamemaker Studio) of one of my first browser games, Vertical Drop Heroes, which was first released way back in 2010. I've made a lot of other games since then, and game development has been my full time career for the last 2 years. This project marks a departure for me from Flash based games to "full-fat" games on the desktop, and it's something that I'm really excited about. All the artwork and coding is done by me, though I will be outsourcing the music composition later in the project.
